Life at IndieSoft
We are a small engineering team that builds products and then lives with them. Dairy360, Print360 and Nexora are not work we delivered and walked away from — they are software we maintain, which means the decisions we made two years ago are decisions we are still paying for, or still glad about.
That shapes the work more than any process does. You will read more code than you write. You will be asked why, and "it is what the framework does" is not a complete answer. And you will meet the consequences of your own design choices, which is the fastest way anyone gets better at making them.
The team is small, so the surface each person touches is wide. That is the trade on offer: less specialisation, more ownership, and fewer places for a problem to hide between two people.

Four things that are true of the work here, and that we would rather you knew before you applied than after.
Review is where the work improves
Code review is not a gate at the end. It is where a design gets argued about while changing it is still cheap. Expect to explain your reasoning, and expect the explanation to make the change better.
Decisions get written down
A short record of why costs an hour now and settles the argument in two years, when nobody remembers the alternatives. If a choice cannot be explained in writing, it is usually not finished.
Wide surface, few handoffs
You will follow a feature from the data model to the focus ring rather than owning one layer of it. Context is the thing that makes good judgement possible, and handoffs are where it goes missing.
The last ten percent is the job
Empty states, error paths, keyboard order, the 320px width. Finishing is the part that gets skipped under pressure, and it is the part we read for in review.
